TOM LEE
Tom Lee is an educator for the Metropolitan Museum of Art and a Master Teaching Artist with the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism. A storyteller for sixteen years, Tom has performed in hundreds of classrooms throughout the state. His programs have been featured on National Public Radio, BBC-TV, and as a guest artist at Yale University Art Gallery. Tom Lee is a Fellow with the Connecticut Writing Project at the University of Connecticut.
Stories From Around World (Grades K-12, 60 Students)
Tom Lee tells traditional stories from around the world; stories that reflect their cultures of origin and convey universal themes; whimsical tales, breathtaking adventurous and thought-provoking dramas drawn from Tom’s expensive travels and research.
Stories are carefully chosen to be grade appropriate for students. Tom draws from student’s questions, comments and insights as he weaves his Telling stories program. Length: 45 minutes
Stories and History (Grade 5-9)
History comes to life as Tom Lee tells stories from the great civilizations of the past. In units designed to support Connecticut Social Studies curriculum in grades 5-9, Tom tells authentic epics and legends from Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece and Rome, Mayan Civilization, The Middle Ages and Ancient China. Length: 45 minutes

Gilgamesh and the Mesopotamian World (Grades 5-9)
Students explore ancient civilizations as Tom tells the epic of Gilgamesh, mankind’s oldest known story, as thrilling today as it was four thousand years ago. Length: 45 minutes
