Lowe’s Toolbox for Education Grants for Parent Organizations

Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation (LCEF) is dedicated to helping parent-teacher groups achieve more for their school. The 2009-10 grant application is now available online. Grants of up to $5,000 are available. Projects need to be educational and reflect the schools they serve and fill their communities’ unique needs and interests. New – Pepsi Refresh Project Offers Monthly Opportunities to Receive Grant Money Starting February 1. 2010

Pepsi is looking for people, businesses, and non-profits with ideas that will have a positive impact.Look around your community and think about how you want to change it. Pepsi is accepting 1,000 ideas every month. Starting February 1st, vote for up to 10 of your favorite ideas every day. If you submitted an idea, feel free to vote for your own. New - US Dept. of Education Announces Grant for Arts Education Programs

Applications Available: January 15, 2010 Deadline for Notice of Intent to Apply: February 16, 2010 Deadline for Transmittal of Applications: March 16, 2010 Deadline for Intergovernmental Review: May 17, 2010.

The U.S. Department of Education has ear-marked an estimated $7,700,000 for innovative arts in education programs.  The Arts in Education Model Development and Dissemination Program (AEMDD) will offer an estimated 28 awards of approximately $275,000 each for innovative elementary and middle school arts education initiatives.”

New - Film Initiative and Competition: What’s Your Issue?
Deadline: April 18, 2010

What’s Your Issue is a national video initiative and competition in its fifth year. Young adults ages 14–24 are invited to develop and present innovative solution-project ideas to issues in one of nine categories: environment, education, health/healthcare, poverty, public service, national security and defense, the economic recession, technology, and human and equal rights. The format for submission is a three-minute video, presenting both the issue and proposed solution-project idea.  www.whatsyourissue.tv

Fender Music Foundation Instrument Grants

The Fender Foundation accepts grants from established, ongoing and sustainable music programs in the U.S. which provide music instruction for people of any age who would not otherwise have the opportunity to make music. The intent of the program must be music instruction, not music appreciation or entertainment. Almost all grants awarded are traditional instruments and the equipment necessary to play them. NEA Foundation Student Achievement Grants

The NEA Foundation provides funds to improve the academic achievement of students in U.S. public schools and public higher education institutions in any subject area. The proposed work should engage students in critical-thinking and problem solving that deepen their knowledge of standards-based subject matter. The grant amount is $5,000.  Funds may be used for resource materials, supplies, equipment, transportation, software, or scholars-in-residence. Grants may not be used to support after-school, weekend, or summer programs, pay indirect costs, grant administration fees, or salaries, stipends to the applicants, or to support conference fees for more than one person.
